A group of 13 volunteers cleared half the path of general debris from overhanging trees and managed to widen it to its original size.
They were performing general maintenance that has not been done for about 20 years.

Diana Griffin, who organised the clear-up for the trust, said: 'We were able to do a lot of edging work, clearing moss and overgrown grass from the sides of the path and widen it from about a foot to around three feet.
'In three hours we cleared from the fire station steps to the school and revealed the original tarmac path. We were also able to clear away the low hanging branches from surrounding trees.
'The work makes it more accessible, especially for dog walkers who use it all the time and visitors coming to the village in the summer.'
SSE brought in a chipper to tidy up the branches cleaned up by the volunteers and the trust says the chipped wood is free for anyone to use.
Volunteers got a much-needed free lunch at The Leven Centre after their hard work and this will be provided at the next clear-up.
The trust plans to clear the rest of the path at the same time on Saturday February 22, depending on the weather.
