PS Waverley returned to service on Tuesday after a fault with the vessel’s forward steam winch was repaired.
The issue was discovered on Wednesday July 24 after Waverley had completed her public sailing, forcing the cancellation of planned cruises until specialist repair works could be carried out.
A spokesperson for Waverley Excursions said: “We are very grateful to everyone that has worked hard to ensure Waverley returned to service as quickly as possible and do apologise to all those customers and supporters who had booked or planned to sail.”
The world’s last sea-going paddle steamer, Waverley is a frequent visitor to Campbeltown, last dropping anchor in the town on Sunday July 21.
She is scheduled to return on Wednesday August 7, offering passengers a chance to enjoy a two-hour cruise of Kintyre’s coast.
