Starting from Monday, May 27, West Coast Motors is increasing its bus fares.
The company has said the increase is line with growing operational costs which have come about following the record inflation of last year.
A West Coast Motors spokesperson said: "Whilst we understand any fare increase is unwelcome, especially in these challenging times, the constant increase in operational costs has left us with no alternative but to increase our ticket prices."
The average fare increase will be around 10 per cent, with certain routes limited to 5 per cent increases.
The spokesperson continued: "We would encourage all fare-paying customers to take advantage of our app tickets, which offer a range of discounted tickets that are generally cheaper than buying on bus. The app can be downloaded from your app store."
Prices in Oban, Ardrishaig Local, Campbeltown, and Cowal Local will be increasing from £3.50 £3.85.
Ardrishaig Area is going from £6.50 to £7.15, Cowal Area from £6.75 to £7.40, and Bute Day from £4.50 to £4.99.
Free bus travel is still available to those under 22 years old under the Scottish Government’s Young Persons’ Free Bus Travel Scheme.
The same applies to those over 60 or with a disability, who could be eligible for free bus travel to get around Scotland.
You can access this via the National Entitlement Card, which also allows for free travel for companions where required by eligible disabled people of any age.
