Adventure Oban, ACT Now and Argyll and Bute Council with support from Planning Aid Scotland have been collecting ideas and priorities from the community to help draw up an active travel plan that will help attract and secure funding to make improvements.
Before the action plan goes any further, its organisers are hosting a Zoom session on Tuesday November 1 at 7pm to make sure they have got people's priorities right.

So far community views have been gathered from an earlier online zoom event, there have also been community conversation events outside Atlantis and at Dungallan Park.
Discussions have also been held with parents of school age children and there has been feedback from the Oban Access Panel.
Almost 700 Oban High School pupils have given their opinions too.
'We’ve collated just under 100 action statements and prioritised them in order of importance to the community and ease of implementation. Some of the main points are to signpost walking and cycling routes through the town, to tidy Oban in an ecologically sensitive way by managing and increasing green spaces, organising beach cleans, planting flowers and putting wheelie bins away,' said the project's Laura Corbe.
Other ideas want to see clearer signs for mixed-use roads such as the Ganavan and Glencruitten road so cyclists and walkers feel safer.
Better bike facilities and the need to clear streets of obstacles to improve accessibility were also flagged up and so was the need for a cycle/foot path from Dunbeg to Connel - although that is out of the group's remit area.
