Several artists from the west of Cowal, whose inspiration comes from their surroundings, are taking part in a forthcoming exhibition at the Barony Centre in West Kilbride.
Among the 24 Cowal Open Studios members taking part are Cairndow-based mixed media artist Louise Day, watercolour painter Catriona Darroch from Strone, Tighnabruaich-based oil and acrylic artist Marie Briggs and collagraph maker Sheila Rodger of Strachur as well as jewellery makers Natalie Sedgewick and Susan Turmeau.
“This will be our biggest exhibition yet at the Barony,” explained COS vice-chair Hans Calvert “and we’ll be turning West Kilbride into a corner of Cowal that reflects the landscapes and seascapes of our wonderful part of the world.
“The exhibition represents a great opportunity to get our creativity out to a wider audience prior to our open studios weekend that takes place from September 26-29,” added Hans, who will also be exhibiting alongside COS chairperson Jenny Phillips.
The exhibition will run from March 28 until April 26 at the Barony Centre in ‘Craft Town Scotland’.
