Entries are open for Oban’s Provincial Mòd coming in June.
Group instrumental competitions for junior and senior competitors as well as a new Argyll song competition for primary and secondary soloists will be additions for this year.
There will also be competitions for fluent Gaelic speakers, but also lots of opportunities for Gaelic learners to get involved in learning poems, songs, or creating stories or artwork.
Oban and District Provincial Mòd secretary Kerrie Kennedy said the provincial mòd would not happen without the time and efforts of our committee and supporters who give their time voluntarily.
But it also takes money, and with rising costs the committee has opted for a small increase in entry fees.
Kerrie added: "We had a very successful year last year and I hope that competition entries from across Argyll and Bute and further afield will continue to rise as we come together to celebrate Gaelic language, music, poetry and song, whether as a competitor, teacher, volunteer or audience member building up to the Royal National Mòd which takes place in Fort William this year from October 10 to 18."
Junior vocal, choral and oral competitions will take place in venues across the town on Friday June 6 with instrumental and senior vocal, choral and oral competitions happening at Oban High School on Saturday June 7.
And winners of the literature, art and media competitions, sent in online, will be announced on the Friday at the Corran Halls.
Entries for vocal, choral and oral competitions close on Friday April 4 with entries for instrumental competitions closing on Friday May 2.
