Tarbert Music Festival has been a fixture on the festival calendar for over 30 years and has attracted its share of big-name performers. This year is no different with pop legends The Bluebells kicking off the festival on the Friday night.
Since reforming in April 2023, The Bluebells have become festival regulars entertaining a whole new legion of fans. They are supported by singer songwriter John Kennedy who is appearing at the Festival for the first time.
The Friday@TheHall is the only ticketed event for this year’s Festival. Tickets, which are still available, can be bought online from Skiddle.
Tarbert Music Festival’s popularity grew over the years thanks to the music held in the pubs and hotels across the village, and this year is no exception. While some venues have yet to announce their acts, we can reveal that The Islay Frigate Hotel will host the hugely popular local band The Democrats on Saturday 21st September. While over at The Corner House you can catch up with Done and Dusted who will be entertaining the crowd all weekend from Friday to Sunday.
The marquee at Tarbert Harbour provides the main stage for Saturday and Sunday’s packed programme. Saturday afternoon sees passionate and introspective Scottish singer-songwriter David WILTs to the marquee. He’ll be joined by indie-pop-rock singer/songwriter Allan Purvis who’s ‘festival of summer anthems’ will be with you long after the festival is over. Sean Findlay, straight from the Edinburgh Fringe, and DJ Lewis round out your Saturday afternoon.
There’s just time for you to grab your dancing shoes before it’s back to the marquee for the evening ceilidh with the West Loch Ceilidh Band, with performances from both the Loch Fyne Pipe Band and The Forget Me Not Choir.
And just when you think it’s all over it will be back to the marquee for Sunday afternoon’s session. This includes formidable female band The Hedrons, who are no strangers to the festival scene. They can boast being the opening band for legends such as Sex Pistols, Rolling Stones and Alice in Chains. Joining The Hedrons are new powerhouse singer Roisin McCarney and young local band After You who are back by popular demand, following their performance at Beer on the Pier.
Marquee events are licenced, have free entry and there will food available to buy. We hope you can support our bar as proceeds help support the event and allow us to provide great bands for your entertainment. Tarbert Harbour’s additional facilities, including new toilets, trampolines and other play equipment for younger children all add to the festival atmosphere.
Come for the day and stay for the weekend – with excellent music, great company and the best hospitality we can offer, we’re looking forward to welcoming you to Tarbert – where else would you rather be?
