Scottish violinist Charlotte Rowan and her playing partner, pianist Charlotte Stevenson, are preparing for a concert on Arran which will include pieces by Edvard Grieg, Dmitri Shostakovitch and Richard Strauss.
The performance, organised by Music Arran, will be held on Friday February 21 at 7.30pm in the theatre at Arran High School.
Born in Clackmannanshire, virtuoso concert violinist Charlotte performs extensively as a recitalist in the UK, appearing at prestigious venues, chamber music societies and festivals.
With her regular accompanist Charlotte Stevenson, she has given concert tours around northern and central Scotland, Yorkshire, Wales, Southern England, the Midlands, Essex, Kent and East Anglia.
In September 2023, she travelled to the Orkney as part of a Scottish tour. Alongside her regular recital performances, she was invited by Orkney International Science Festival to lead a workshop on violin-making and sound production.
Charlotte is an alumni of the Peabody Conservatory, USA, and plays a Fridolin Rusch violin (2005) of Memmingen, Bavaria.
Based in Cambridge, Charlotte also teaches violin and chamber music at the Perse School, St Faith’s Cambridge and King’s School, Ely.
She has been widely praised for her innovative concert programming, which encompasses a wealth of violin literature as well as breadth and balance in recitals.
Tickets for the concert are available on the door at £12 for adults or free for under 18s.
