Your future awaits: January courses open for applications
As the new year approaches you might be thinking about a taking on a new challenge, or perhaps even changing careers. UHI Argyll has a wide range of short courses starting this January which are designed to give you a taster in a subject, before you decide to progress further.
With most courses running until June, you’ll have plenty of time to weigh up your options ahead of the September intake.
NQ Access to Further Education
Looking for a place to begin your learning journey? The NQ Access to Further Education course is ideal for those who may not have flourished in school but are ready to turn things around. Whether you’re just leaving school or have been considering your options for some time, this course is perfect for building confidence in your abilities, developing essential study skills, and preparing you for your next steps. The supportive and relaxed learning environment will provide you with the opportunity to thrive.
NQ Maritime Skills
At the Oban campus if you’re thinking about a career at sea, you might be interested in our Maritime Skills course. Suitable for absolute beginners, it combines practical boat work, VHF radio use, and chart work navigation, to allow you to work confidently and safely out on the water. The course includes a suite of industry recognised tickets and RYA qualifications such as Powerboat 1 and 2, VHF Radio, and Essential Navigation, which are all highly sought after by employers.
NPA Computer Games Development
Do you love playing digital games? Why not make your own? With Digital Technology being Scotland’s fastest-growing sector for inward investment, the gaming industry offers a wide range of careers from programmers, software developers, animators, and many more.
Our NPA Computer Games Development course will teach you how to plan, design, and create your own games. You will explore different platforms, genres, and media assets, and learn how to evaluate, promote, and share your creation. Now’s the time to unleash your creativity and take the first step towards becoming a game developer!
Study a single unit
If you like the look of one of our full-time courses, but aren’t quite ready to commit, we also offer the option of studying a single unit. Choose from any SQA unit or degree module and commit to studying with us from as little as two hours per week.
