Inveraray Community Council has been alerted by BEAR Scotland, trunk road contractors for Transport Scotland, that work to repair the seawall on the A83 north of Inveraray will start at the end of this month.
A 30-metre section of wall has been damaged at three sections by wave action and the work to repair and improve its resilience, starting on January 27, is likely to take two months to complete, depending on weather and tides.
BEAR Scotland has said work will take place between 8am and 6pm, with two-way temporary traffic lights in place while work is carried out, with a 30mph speed limit.
The location is north of Aray Bridge, towards Tarbet, but before the head of Loch Shira.
"We understand that works of this nature are disruptive and have planned the works consecutively to reduce the impact of the works," said a spokesperson for BEAR Scotland.
It is hoped they will be complete by March 21 2025.
