Oban’s Bob MacIntyre will team up with his dad Dougie today at Augusta National for the course’s iconic Par 3 contest.
One of last year’s feel-good stories on the PGA Tour is set for a new chapter after his father carried his bag to success at the Canadian Open.
Regular caddie Mike Burrows will be back for The Masters itself tomorrow, but the 28-year-old is looking forward to another family affair today.
He said: "My dad is going to be on the bag, the guy who taught me the game of golf.”
Bob says he is hopeful his dad can enjoy this Masters experience more than his last, joking: "He hit it in the water last time – he was nervous.
"He hardly took a practice swing – he just put that ball on the ground and took a go at it. Hopefully he will enjoy it this time a bit more."
Dougie, the head greenkeeper in their hometown, previously teamed up with his son at last year’s Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, joining forces at the popular pro-am which is staged across St Andrews, Carnoustie and Kingsbarns.
Bob will tee off alongside Billy Horschel and Nick Dunlap for the opening two rounds of the Masters, beginning his challenge at 2.36pm British time on Thursday.
