Campbeltown firefighters and youth volunteers got out their hoses and sponges as they washed cars for charity last Saturday.
A crew of about 20 gathered at Campbeltown Ferry Terminal for the charity car wash in aid of The Fire Fighters Charity, the UK’s leading provider of services that enhance quality of life for serving and retired fire service personnel and their families.
From 10am until 2.30pm, the Campbeltown team scrubbed clean more than 80 vehicles, earning about £900 for their efforts, with perfect weather for the occasion.
Ronnie Souden, watch commander at Campbeltown Fire Station, thanked everyone for their support and generosity.
“The event was very well supported and the firefighters and youth volunteers worked really hard to get everything done,” he said.
“We would like to thank everybody who came to get their car washed, and who donated to the total raised.
“We would also like to thank the harbour master for letting us use the ferry terminal.”
