Date released for overnight resurfacing on Bealach an Righ

The work, which will fix defects in the existing road surface and improve visibility, making the carriageway more durable and resilient against inclement weather, are due to start on Monday until the morning of Monday  March 31, with no works taking place on Friday or Saturday evenings.

Works will be carried out between the hours of 8pm and 6am each night. Outwith these hours traffic management will be removed, however, a 30mph speed limit will remain in place, as traffic will be travelling over a temporary surface.

To ensure the safety of the workforce and members of the travelling public, this section of the A85 will be closed in both directions each night. During periods of closure, amnesties at 9pm, 10pm, 11pm, midnight, 2am and 4am will allow waiting vehicles to be escorted safely through the site.

As a result of the A85 closure, during the working hours access to and from Croft Road, Deanery Brae and  Rowan Road, Oban will be at amnesty times only. Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained at all times.

In order to minimise disruption, amnesty periods have been timed to coincide with bus timetables therefore services in and out of Oban via Dunollie Road will be unaffected.
