Campbeltown firefighters raced to a blaze on Kinloch Road at about 2.45pm on Monday, following reports of a loud bang and black smoke that could be seen and heard across the town.
With the location of the blaze just a few hundred metres from Campbeltown Fire Station, firefighters were on the scene in just a few minutes.
There they discovered a storage container next to a mobile food van ablaze.
While police officers closed the road, firefighters worked very quickly to get the fire under control, using jets to extinguish the flames.
Although the storage unit was destroyed, thanks to the firefighters’ quick action, the food van was only scorched.
There were no casualties in the fire, which is believed to have been started accidentally, with police saying there was no criminality established.
