The sale has been completed by Christie & Co, the specialist business property adviser.
Inveraray Pharmacy is a community pharmacy that dispenses an average of 1,700 items per month via a 16-hour dispensary contract.
It is located in the same street as the GP surgery and had been owned by a small group operator, Sanjay Majhu of Apple Pharmacy Group, since October 2016, and was put on to the market to allow him to concentrate on his other pharmacies.
Following a confidential sales process with Karl Clezy at Christie & Co, the business has been purchased by Murtaza Syed, a first-time buyer from Glasgow.
Murtaza is already bringing new services to the pharmacy. He said: “We recently bought Inveraray Pharmacy from Sanjay who is now a close friend and a mentor of ours.
“We are a family-owned business based in Inveraray. Our aim is to bring the best pharmaceutical services to people’s doorstep both NHS and private.
“The in-house remote private GP and Ear micro suction services, make us stand out as a pharmacy situated in a remote location.
“We offer free prescriptions collection and delivery services to a large area that covers Arrochar, Luss and Helensburgh.
“We also offer NHS Scotland pharmacy first service where you can get medication for minor ailments free of cost either at the pharmacy or delivered to your home. There is also a facility of having private consultations with online Gps for acute treatments.
“For more information feel free to give us a call on the pharmacy number 01499302133 , out of hours number 07864355117.”
Sanjay said: “As part of Apple Pharmacy Group strategy to sell West Coast pharmacies starting with Islay in February 2024 and now Inveraray, we are delighted that Murtaza has acquired this beautiful pharmacy.
“The local population will benefit from an owner operator and Murtaza is a very able hard-working pharmacist.
"He already launched his Pharmacy First campaign before the sale and is looking to provide more services - he is a great fit and we are delighted with this sale.”
Inveraray Pharmacy was sold for an undisclosed price.
