Four months after landslides and flood damage closed the B828 to Lochgoilhead, the road has re-opened to traffic.
Argyll and Bute Council carried out repairs to a bridge and retaining walls on the road and had hoped to re-open the road just before Christmas.
But two 350-tonne boulders were found on the hillside above the B828 by Forestry and Land Scotland (FLS) contractors, which postponed the re-opening until they had been removed.
FLS indicated 10 days ago it would take until February 10 to allow the work to be completed after the storms in January hindered work on removing the boulders, but Argyll and Bute Council announced on February 2 that the road, which connects the village with the A83 at the top of the Rest and Be Thankful, was finally accessible.
The news has been warmly welcomed on social media.
All traffic in and out of the village has had to use the Hell’s Glen road, which has led to the road becoming damaged as a result of the volume of traffic not normally on it and vehicles having to go on to the verges to pass each other.
