Children of Tarbert are on the crest of a wave after local fisherman Kenny Brown donated the proceeds of his final catch to their Early Learning Centre (ELC).
Hauling in his final landing on Friday January 31, Kenny, owner and skipper of the Caledonia, met with the class the following week when they expressed their gratitude with a thank you banner and a cake.
A Tarbert ELC spokesperson said: "It was a sad day for the fishing community of Tarbert as the Caledonia made her final landing.
"The ELC spend a lot of time walking along the quay and talking about the fishing industry, the heart of our community.
"This is a fantastic way to inspire curiosity and respect for our local fishermen and it’s important to us that the children learn about Tarbert’s heritage.
"We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to Kenny for his incredibly generous donation. This is hugely appreciated by all staff and the money will go directly to developing our setting."
