Loch Melfort and Kilninver Company Limited (LMKC) have followed up their successful launch events with a repeat of last year’s table top sale in Kilmelford Village Hall.
Held jointly with the Village Hall, this year the sale opened on Remembrance Sunday just after the two minute silence to a steady stream of eager buyers looking for bargains.
The hard-working team organising the sale had attracted more than 20 sellers. Many generous local businesses had donated fantastic raffle prizes and when LMKC’s Chairman Stuart Cannon drew the winning tickets, there were a lot of happy winners gladly claiming their prizes.
All day the wonderful team in the kitchen worked hard to provide tea and coffee, sandwiches and many homemade cakes and biscuits at a very reasonable price. Locals and visitors from further afield welcomed the chance to catch up with friends and purchase some bargains, and after expenses, nearly £900 was raised and divided between the Hall Association and LMKC.
The next joint event is the popular Kilmelford Christmas Fair, which this year is on Saturday December 7.
Santa’s Grotto will be back, alongside stalls selling a wide range of items suitable for presents for all the family, clothing, locally produced food, calendars and cards, decorations and items for the home.
Teas, coffees and home-baking will be for sale. There will be a raffle and a Tombola (and donations to either will be very welcome), plus a Children’s Lucky Dip.
Entrance is £1, with free entry for those under 16, and includes a raffle ticket.
The event takes place at Kilmelford and Kilninver Hall between 10am and 4pm on Saturday December 7.
Looking ahead to 2025, LMKC will be hosting a public meeting on February 14 to discuss possible projects and issues to investigate. This will be followed by the company’s first general meeting to vote for directors.
Please look out for more information on this in the new year. In the meantime, as only full members of the company have a vote at the meeting, it is recommend that anyone interested in voting should apply for membership as soon as possible. It can be done online via the website, lmkc.uk, or at the fair.
