Church of Scotland is seeking a new minister to lead its North West Lochaber congregation.
Applications are now being accepted for the position in the Presbytery of Clèir Eilean ì: Highlands and Hebrides, where the new minister will succeed Reverend Stewart Goudie after he retired in September after six years in the role. Rev Donald Prentice has been serving as a locum in the subsequent months.
Covering 350 square miles, the North West Lochaber parish includes the districts of Mallaig, Morar, Arisaig, Glenfinnan, Lochailort and Knoydart, as well as the Small Isles. Weekly worship alternates between Mallaig and Arisaig, with services held in the Small Isles and Knoydart at least three times a year.
As well as encouraging the congregation to live a Christian life and providing spiritual and organisational leadership, it is hoped the new minister will find ways to expand the congregation numbers. In a parish with a population of around 2000, the congregation has a roll of 70, with around 30 attending weekend services.
Applications and requests for further information on the position can be sent to the vacancy clerk Kathy Bradshaw at skbradshaw1990@gmail.com.
