Campbeltown will join communities across the UK and France in marking the upcoming 80th anniversary of D-Day.
The Campbeltown branch of the Royal British Legion Scotland will hold a service of remembrance at the town’s war memorial on Kinloch Green on Thursday June 6 to honour the brave personnel who risked their lives and paid the ultimate sacrifice for freedom and peace in the Normandy Landings during the Second World War.
Members of the community are invited to attend the service which begins at 1.30pm, as well as the lighting of the ‘lamp light of peace’, representing the ‘light of peace’ that emerged from the darkness of war, at the war memorial at 9.15pm.
