Fears that thousands of revellers at the Tiree Music Festival this weekend would be unable to get off Tiree after a ferry broke down have received reassurance from CalMac.
Due to a technical issue the MV Clansman remains off service today, but the MV Isle of Mull has been deployed to cover Coll and Tiree service.
However the changes have resulted in some disruptions to the Craignure service.
Organisers of the Tiree Music Festival said "thousands" of festival goers had made the pilgrimage to Tiree for a true island adventure from Friday until Sunday.
"The island reverberated with the sound of music as over 30 performances and a host of fringe activities brought the 2,100 ticket holders together in a shared passion for live music and community," a spokesperson said.
Ferry users are asked to check CalMac for service updates.
CalMac told us early this morning: "The service team were notified around 0400 this morning, texts were sent to customers to advise that the sailing at 0730 was cancelled and there would be an update at 1000.
"At 0855 CalMac updated to confirm that MV Isle of Mull would operate a delayed service at 0955."
In an update on its website just before 10am on Sunday July 14, CalMac added: "Due to a technical issue with MV Clansman’s main engine, the vessel has been removed from service to allow further investigations and repair.
"The MV Isle of Mull will operate the following service today as a result of a technical disruption with the MV Clansman. Our team are working through this timetable change and will be in touch with impacted customers when this has been completed."
It gave the following times for Sunday’s ferries:
Depart Oban - 09:55
Arrive Coll 12:55
Depart Coll - 13:10
Arrive Tiree - 14:10
Depart Tiree - 14:40
Arrive Coll - 15:40

As Tiree Music Festival drew to a close, its artistic director Daniel Gillespie said: "We are immensely grateful to everyone who contributed to the magic of TMF 2024. The positive energy and unwavering support from our incredible audience, dedicated volunteers, and the talented artists who graced our stages made this year’s event truly exceptional.
"Putting on a festival on an island on the West Coast of Scotland is no mean feat and we are so grateful to everyone who makes the journey and allows us to show off this special place.”
