One-stop energy drop-in day

Arran residents looking for support with their energy bills can attend an energy event next week hosted by Arran Eco Savvy at the Ormidale Pavilion in Brodick.

 

The event will take place on Tuesday March 14, between 11am and 3pm, where a number of energy advice, information and useful services will be available for visitors.

 

The Safe and Warm Energy adviser for Renfrewshire Citizens Advice Bureau, Amanda Mackie, will be available to talk to people worried about their bills or wanting to cut their energy usage.

 

People interested in this service are encouraged to bring their bills along for her to have a look at.

 

Also in attendance will be energy expert, Home Energy Scotland, which can help with a variety of things such as: free advice to help lower and understand energy bills; information on prepayment meters and how to use heating controls effectively.

 

North Ayrshire Council launched the Energy Smart campaign during 2022 in response to the energy and cost of living crisis.

 

Its sustainability team works in partnership with Home Energy Scotland and will be on hand to provide practical advice on how to save money on energy bills.

 

The Wise Group, endorsed by North Ayrshire Council, will be offering advice on Area Based Scheme projects.

 

It is reaching out to homes that require energy efficiency measures to improve living conditions, reduce energy costs and generally improve homes for future generations and families, which also has a positive effect on the environment.

 

Arran Eco Savvy’s energy team will also be at the event with some energy-busting items from their winter warmer demonstration kit for people to look at, including window insulating film, a heated throw cover, an air fryer and an electric clothes dryer.

 

Andrew Deery from Eco Savvy will be available too, to talk about Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs), how they can be beneficial for improving the energy efficiency of a home, and how to get an EPC on Arran.
