Ford SWI has been making glass sun catchers and hearing about Colonsay wildlife during their first two meetings of the year.
In February, at Ford Village Hall, Kirsty Brady from a Touch of Glass showed members how to fuse glass to make colourful suncatchers.
While this month, the members and four visitors to the meeting enjoyed a talk by David Jardine about Colonsay’s Choughs and other wildlife.
This was followed by the competitions for three pancakes for the Sheena Carmichael Trophy, won by Sheena McNair and the ‘quirky shoes’ competition won by Mary Stewart.
The institute has a busy April ahead with an open talk on children’s hospices across Scotland on Tuesday April, 7.30pm at Ford hall, where anyone is welcome and on Saturday April 5 members are holding have a daffodil tea in Kilmartin Church along with craft stalls on Saturday April 5, 1.30pm-3.30pm.
