February is National Heart Month, with West Highland Chamber of Commerce holding a ‘Healthy Hearts, Healthy Business’ event in Fort William.
The aim of the networking lunch was to help businesses learn ways to support employee health and wellbeing, and raise awareness of the help available to do this.
Expert speakers shared useful tips on workplace wellness. Anne Magarin from Chest, Heart & Stroke Scotland (CHSS) talked about heart health and how businesses can work with CHSS to help their staff stay healthy.
Helen McBride from Westfield Health introduced the Westfield Health programme, explaining how it boosts employee wellbeing and productivity. She also discussed the Chamber Health Cash Plan, a fantastic perk of membership which helps businesses offer free health support to their teams at special Chamber rates.
Emma Thomson from High Life Highland spoke about the Employee Wellbeing Membership, which gives businesses access to fitness and wellness facilities in 25 leisure centres. She shared how more than 85 local businesses already use this programme, with funding options available.
The event gave businesses a chance to connect and explore ways to create a healthier workplace. By hosting events like this, West Highland Chamber of Commerce continues to help businesses care for their employees’ wellbeing.
