A gang of 15 Explorer Scouts from North Argyll, Oban, Mull and Lochgilphead braved snow and ice on a weekend residential winter skills training course in Lochaber and Glencoe.
They were led by local qualified Mountain Guides and Explorer Scout Leaders, who taught them various important winter mountaineering skills.
Training included the use of ice axes and crampons, which are required for safe mountaineering in winter conditions.
The Scout leaders and Guides were very impressed by all the Explorers who worked hard, learned huge amounts in the harsh winter environment, and also had great fun socialising together in the evenings.
The North Argyll Explorer Scouts, known as the Wildcats, are having a fun promotional night in Oban on Friday March 14 for anyone aged 13-18.
