Campbeltown Courier - Letters to the Editor 17.01.25

She went back to Campbeltown and lived there a few years in the mid to late 1980s before heading back to the US to live with her children where she eventually passed away. She had four children – Gamal, Camillia, Sylvia, and Gilan (my mother). 

She had siblings named Catherine, Elsie, George, and John, and possibly more. Her parents were Jane and Robert Riddell. I recently came across an image of a gravestone marker on Google that I believe may have belong to my great-grandmother, Jane.

One of my grandmother’s relatives visited us in Houston, Texas, many years ago, but since then, we have been unable to reconnect. I would love to reach out to my mom’s cousins or my second cousins if they are still in the Campbeltown area.

If anyone has any information about the Riddell family or could point me in the direction of someone who might, I would be extremely grateful. I would be happy to provide further details if needed.
