The draw for the 2025 Highland Industrial Supplies Sutherland Cup was made on Tuesday February 4 at the Loch Ness Centre by Garry Mackintosh Director, Highland Industrial Supplies and Aimee Todd, Loch Ness
Centre.
The first round takes place on Saturday April 5 and this year’s final is set for Saturday September 13 at Blairbeg Park, Drumnadrochit.
Burton Morrison, Camanachd Association President said: “As the new season approaches, and the various competition draws begin to fill in the spaces in the fixture list, there is a sense of anticipation amongst players and coaches as they await the outcome of the ballot.
“The Highland Industrial Supplies Sir William Sutherland Cup has the largest number of entries of all competitions and the successful teams will play up to four matches to get to the final.
“The final itself has been held at Blairbeg Park, home of Glenurquhart Shinty Club, over the last four years and has become one of the best attended finals of the season.
“Kingussie and Skye served up an exciting final last year with the outcome in doubt up until the last few minutes. Both these teams will be seeking a return to the final but will be wary of strong contenders across the country.
“Our gratitude once again goes to Highland Industrial Supplies for their continuing support in this competition and in making it a key date on the shinty calendar.
“Their commitment and hospitality is much appreciated. I wish all teams the best of luck in the draw.”
Speaking of the draw, Garry Mackintosh, Highland Industrial Supplies Director said: “Highland Industrial Supplies is proud to continue our support of the Sutherland Cup, a competition that embodies the passion and skill of shinty’s rising talent.
“With 21 goals shared across the last four finals, the competition is set for another thrilling contest, and we look forward to welcoming the shinty community to Blairbeg Park on September 13 for what promises to be another unforgettable final.”
