Bob MacIntyre got his bid for the Western Open in Phoenix off to a solid start last night.
The Oban man was one of the last players on the tee, getting in the swing just after 8pm UK time.
After a mixed bag at Pebble Beach, the 28-year-old put in 18 bogey-free holes to position himself nicely within the top 20 and poised to challenge at the top of the leaderboard at TPC Scottsdale.
Pars on the first two holes were followed by a birdie on the par five third. A string of pars saw Bob go out in 34, with further par golf on 10, 11 and 12.
A welcome birdie on the second par 5 13th pushed Bob to two under before a further birdie on 17 and par finish saw the Oban man card 34 for his back nine and a solid 68 overall.
He will have been pleased with his driving, approach play and putting, all playing a part in a what was pretty much an error-free opening round.
Bob is back out for his second 18 from 3.26pm today.
