Ten senior students from Campbeltown Grammar School (CGS) travelled to Islay last week to compete in the annual inter-schools MAKI (Mid Argyll, Kintyre and Islay) Volleyball Tournament.
In two teams, the Campbeltown competitors played 14 matches each, with some very exciting and closely-contested games.
After all matches were completed, CGS finished on top to claim the champions’ shield, with Islay High School second, Lochgilphead High School third and Tarbert Academy finishing fourth.
“A huge well done to all the participants in what was an excellent advert for school competitive sport,” said a CGS spokesperson.
