Hopes for the Lochaber side were high as they headed to the Black Isle to take on Inverness Athletic, the same opponents who had been pipped at the post two weeks ago when Fort came out victorious in a 6-5 humdinger.
Here goalkeeper Matwusz Kulbacki saved a penalty in the first half before Sam Mackay opened his account for the afternoon.
In reply, Sean Ellis was on target for Fort and combative midfielder Andrew McLean had a finish disallowed.
Club Secretary, Rebecca Small said: “We were very unlucky to not get any more.
“We can’t fault the players as they battled to the end. Questions around the referring continue and, all in all, it was frustrating all round.”
Manager Kyle Redpath agreed saying: “I was pleased with the boys’ attitude and application.
“They did exactly as I asked and, on another, day we get the result. It’s difficult to get anything from a game when three penalties are given against you but we created some decent chances and the squad is in a much better place personnel and performance wise than it was at the start of the season.
“We have our final game next week at home which is a good opportunity to end the season on a high and then I’m sure Rob (Coull) will update everyone on plans for next season.”
