Members, family, friends and supporters of Fort William Shinty Club came together recently for a dinner and awards night which was held in the Alexandra Hotel.
Club President James Tangney welcomed everyone with a speech outlining Club successes in the past season which saw them regaining a place in the Premier League in which they aim to do well and their intention to play a leading role in 2025.
In calling up the award winners to receive their trophies he also gave a brief explanation of why they had been chosen and their achievements in in contributing to the Club’s success.
A special award introduced this year was the Innez MacLeod Memorial Trophy for outstanding contribution to the Club, presented to the Club by his family.
In accepting the award, first recipient, Willie Anderson spoke of his late friend’s commitment to Fort William shinty Club and the great honour not only for receiving the award, but also that Innez himself had been able to present awards at a Junior Shinty tournament at An Aird towards the end of last year.

Aarron Stephens - U17 player of the year; Cameron Burns - 2nd team most improved; Greig Kelly - 2nd team player of the year; Lachie Shaw - 1st team player of the year; Willie Anderson - Innez Macleod memorial trophy for outstanding contribution to the club; Cameron Burns - 2nd team most improved player (not able to attend the awards ceremony).
