It was an Oban one, two, three at the Tiree Half Marathon on Saturday May 4.
Sporting allrounder Rory Dowd came home first in a very speedy time of 1:16:07.
Rory is a full-time leisure attendant and coach at Atlantis Leisure, where he has attended since he was a child.
Rory is also a keen cyclist, runner and basically anything outdoors. He has been an Oban Saints player for many years.
Rory’s brother Ewan was less than 30 seconds behind him, with Oban local Michael Bossard coming in third with a time of 1:17:11.
There were 185 entries for the 10k this year with a further 117 in the Marathon.
The Tiree 10k & Half Marathon started in 2006 and has grown to be a much anticipated event on the island calendar.
This year competitors set off on a new journey around the east end of the island, completing one lap of the Gott Bay course for the 10k and two laps for the Half Marathon.
