Sunny’s Bar saw a maximum attendance (24) as nine under 18’s and 15 seniors stepped up to the oche for the top cash prize and points towards the Amateur Darts Circuit (ADC) Scotland regional table.
Picking up the points this week were:
Quarter Finalists (4points) Maxi Maxwell, Evan Atkinson, Jamie Macniven and Ben MacDonald.
Semi Finalists (8points) James Macraild and Michael Slezas.
Runner up (16points) Ross MacMillan
Winner (32points) Martyn Cameron
Martyn played James Macraild in the first semi-final; with young James pushing Martyn in to producing his A game. The result was three legs to nothing with Cameron averaging more than 86.
Good experience and a second semi-final in a row by James, who has plenty years on his side at the young age of 14.
The second semi-final was another high octane match with power scorer Ross MacMillan bullying his opponent Michael Slezas into an early submission by defeating his counterpart three legs to nil. MacMillan averaged just shy of 75 in his win.
In the final an opening leg of 12 darts from Cameron set the scene for the rest of the match. Cameron’s finishing wasn’t at his best, but the powering scoring helped him across the line for another 32 points haul and £40 in prize money. Cameron’s first nine average was just under 100 which tells you how powerful his scoring was.
Local lad and organiser of the ADC events Martyn Cameron is making a big push in the Regional Table. Currently sitting in eighth position but with most above him having maxed out their entries he has scope to climb further up.
“Realistically I want a top five finish,” he told us.
“However I would love to be on the podium come the end of the 7-week event. For that to happen Lady Luck will have to be on my side.
“Thanks to Iain Rodger for his continued support and to all the darters who have maxed out in fort William every week so far.”
