More than 100 pupils and staff from Arran’s seven primary schools took part in a football festival to celebrate Scotland reaching the European Football Championships which will take place in Germany this month.
Larger schools, including Brodick, Lamlash and Whiting Bay, had two teams which allowed them to represent Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Hungary, France and Netherlands, while Corrie represented Croatia, Kilmory Italy, Pirnmill Portugal and Shiskine Spain.
Each team consisted of seven players. They played on four pitches - Berlin, Dortmund, Munich and Frankfurt - at Arran High School. Each match lasted 20 minutes.
Denmark (Brodick) and France (Lamlash) made it to the finals with the match ending 5-2 to Denmark.
Organiser and Active Schools co-ordinator for the Arran cluster Ross Dobson said: “Congratulations to all of the participants and to the winning Brodick pupils and team managers Jenny Duncan and Cara Cook.
“Thanks to Arran High School for allowing us to host the event during school time and KA Leisure for supporting it.
“A special mention has to go to the Arran High School sports leaders who helped referee the matches and ensured the event ran smoothly. Thanks to Katherine, Laura, Olivia, Ewan, Harvey, Jamie and Freddie."
The Euros 2024 will take place in Germany from June 14 to July 14. The tournament will comprise 24 teams, with Scotland competing against Germany in the first match on the first day of the tournament.
