More than 90 competitors took part in the three-person Texas Scramble competition with Lochaber players taking most of the prize money.
The Bogey Bunch, comprising David Wilson, Donald Wilson and Roy Johnston from
Kinlochleven and Glencoe, took the Rotary Winners’ Trophy and a cash prize of £200.
Local ladies’ team The Three Amigos - Tricia Macivor, Amelia Stewart and Margaret
Cassidy - were worthy winners of the first home ladies award and £50 cash.
Second in the overall tournament was local threesome The Back 9 Bandits with third
place going to another local team Peaky Blind Golfers.
Team Whyte and Brown from Ballachulish gained the highest non-placed visitor team award of £50.
Longest Drive, ladies, and nearest the pin at the sixth awards went to Rosie MacIntyre, with Longest Drive, men, going to Gavin Whyte of the Peaky Blind Golfers of Ballachulish.
Iain Robertson from Torlundy was nearest the pin at the third, with R Douglas taking the same award at the 12th and local Tricia Macivor at the 16th.
The prizes were presented by Rotary past presidents Iain Johnston and Donald Young.
Donald, who co-ordinated the event, extended the club’s thanks to MOWI,
John McLellan and Co, Alan Ingram, Fleming and Fleming, Fort William Golf Club, The Caddy Shack staff, Rosemary MacIntyre, John Watssman and numerous others for their generous sponsorship and support of the event.
Rotary president Simon Hardiman said the club was pleased with the day’s events,
adding: “Our annual tournament has now raised almost £60,000 for local charities and I thank all the golfers and my Rotary colleagues for their efforts in making this such a happy and cheerful tournament. We will be back next May.”
