Mid Argyll Rugby Club’s U16 boys may have suffered defeat at the hands of their opponents, but there was a lot of positives to take away from the match on Sunday, January 19, writes Lee Buckley.
Lanark came away with the victory but the Mid Argyll team took another step forward as they continue to develop and gel as squad.
Well done to all the boys that played, especially Cormick Logan who made his debut and Caillin Swanson who was named Man Of The Match.
Mid Argyll RFC supported by players from Islay RFC and Campbeltown and Kintyre RFC played Lanark Rugby Club. It was a good contest with both sides giving a strong physical encounter there was great development in the forwards play with a good contest at the breakdown.
A spokesperson for Mid Argyll RFC said: "The game was dominated by scrums and our front row put on a solid display, with Dima Ivanchenko only taking to the field for his second ever game.
"The coaching team was extremely proud of the players. A big thanks to Lanark for travelling up to Argyll, and thanks for all the help and support in feeding the players after the game."
