Boys and girls from Campbeltown and District Juvenile Football Association (CDJFA) put their skills to the test during a February football camp.
Held over two days during last week’s school holiday, the camp was delivered in partnership with Stuart Crossan of SRJC Sport and several of CDJFA’s own coaches.
Youngsters and coaches braved chilly temperatures on Wednesday February 12 and Thursday February 13, with the 2019-2016 age groups and girls’ under-10 and under-eights taking to the all-weather pitch on Kinloch Green in the morning, and the 2015-2010 age groups and girls’ under-14s and under-12s in action in the afternoon.
The camps provide a safe, fun environment for the youngsters to enjoy extra football, with the players receiving sessions on shooting, passing, control, field position and tactics, combined with matches and tournaments throughout the day.
“Well done to everyone for braving the cold weather,” said a CDJFA spokesperson. “It looks like everyone had lots of fun.
“Special mention to coaches Lorne, Stewart, Kirstie, Alan and Calum for their support over the two days, and thank you to Stuart from SRJC Sport, without whom the camp wouldn’t happen.”
