Tiree Music Festival celebrates major award win

The National Outdoor Event Association’s (NOEA) Awards cook place in The Pump Rooms, Bath, on Tuesday November 26.

TMF was crowned Small Event of the Year for 2024 after it’s show stopping return this year. 

The nominees for the event all must have less than 5,000 attendees, TMF maxes out at 2,100.

The festival, which was cancelled in 2023 due to adverse weather, received rave reviews on its comeback. 

The NOEA judges said TMF had a clear vision while recognising what makes it so special. By keeping the target capacity of 2100, the judges say it retained all the things that have made the event special since the start. 

Judges also praised the fact that the festival was focused on what customers want and was strongly linked with the community on the island. 

Stewart MacLennan, co-founder of Tiree Music Festival, said: "We’re honoured to be have lifted the title for Small Event of the Year 2024 at the National Outdoor Event Association’s Awards. 

"This is our twelfth national award but just as special as the first. 

"Tiree Music Festival has always been about celebrating the unique spirit of the island and bringing together the best of music, culture, and community.

"This recognition is a testament to the hard work of everyone involved, from the artists and the production team to the volunteers and our loyal audience.

"We’re never one to rest on our laurels and are full steam ahead with plans for 2025 and continuing to ensure TMF is the best small festival around.”

The festival could win yet another award this year, at the Scottish Live Music Awards where it is shortlisted for Festival of the Year 2024.

The ceremony will be presented at the Classic Grand Ballroom in Glasgow on Wednesday December 11.

TMF is returning once more in 2025, tickets go on sale this Friday, November 29, at 5pm.
